DESCRIPTION:This seminar is for both family caregivers and healthcare professionals. Course Goals and Objectives are:\n\n  To provide fundamental education on dementia and dementia care\n\n  To enhance the quality of life of dementia patients through education for care providers\n\n  Foster sensitivity and respect for the dementia client\n\n  To teach communication techniques\n\n  To provide sensitive approaches for assisting patients with activities of daily living\n\n  Identify common causes of aggressive\, repetitive\, and sundowning behaviors in adults\n\n  Describe behavioral/care interventions that may be used to prevent or reduce difficult care situations\n\n  Describe challenges related to caregiver stress and utilize stress reduction techniques\n\n  Learn alternative activity interventions that are success-oriented and failure-free\n\n\n\nThe NCCDP Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care Seminars have been approved by the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners  and meets the criteria for those who qualify and are pursuing certification as a CDP Certified Dementia Practitioner. This Course Certificate may be submitted to the NCCDP for certification as a Certified Dementia Care Practitioner and to InsPAC for 6 Nursing CEU's.\n\n\n\nTo register please email Mike Adams at Madams@purehlth.com or call (713) 201-2965.
